Today's local Charlotte business spotlight on Rosemary Honey Designs & Bakes combines two of my favorite activities- eating and shopping.
Always a winning combination.
The entire Dragonfly Homes Team is incredibly inspired by its General Manager Sonya Caldwell who also wears the hats of artist, baker, blogger, cook, designer, wife, and mother. Phew!
Sonya is a true go-getter, and we're honored to introduce you to her and Rosemary Honey Designs & Bakes.
(Warning: The following images will induce feelings of hunger and may possibly result in the breaking of some New Year's Resolutions.)
Rosemary Honey Designs & Bakes is a family-owned, home-based business that began in 2018 (after some urging by supportive friends and family).
By 2019, Sonya and her family were selling their delicious baked goods online and in local stores around Charlotte.
Their bakery products include brownies, cakes, cobbler, cookies, and pies. They also offer seasonal menu items throughout the year and are currently featuring Matcha Pound Cake, Matcha Macarons, and Matcha Chocolate Dipped Cookies.
Not sure what to order?
Consider one of their top sellers- the signature Lemon Blueberry Cake or the Peach Cobbler.
Even rapper, actor, and TV host FatJoe and entertainer, entrepreneur, philanthropist, and humanitarian Emmanual Lewis are fans!
(By the way, it is worth checking out their other rave reviews.)
In addition to making savory meals and sweet desserts, Sonya enjoys interior decorating, staging, and creating new things from old pieces (with her favorite design style being a mix of traditional and transitional).
So, in 2019, they started selling home decor at a Charlotte multi-merchant gift & home furnishings marketplace and officially launched Rosemary Honey Designs online in 2020.
Reimagined by Rosemary Honey Designs represents a collection of home furnishings that are repurposed and upcycled.
Sonya's goal in creating unique, custom home decor is to give a style that is meaningful to the buyer. She loves to create something bold and unique by designing pieces with something old and something new.
When the world gets back to normal again someday, she hopes to open a brick and mortar store- and you can bet that we'll be there on opening day!
We could sing their praises and share their accolades for days, but we just had to highlight that Rosemary Honey Designs & Bakes is an incredibly kind and giving business above all else.
In 2020, they hosted a GoFundMe campaign with a goal of $1,500 to celebrate students who missed celebrating a birthday, graduation, medical recovery, or any other milestone during the pandemic and were able to offer a free Student Celebration Gift Box filled with assorted fresh baked cookies to scholars in elementary, middle, high school, and college.
They also baked over 700 cookies for students and teachers and essential workers!
As if that wasn't all amazing enough, the business partnered with the Salvation Army Center of Hope to donate furniture and toiletries to the residents transitioning to their new homes.
Finally, for Sickle Cell Awareness Month in September and in November for Thanksgiving, they planned and prepared the meal boxes for families supported by the Sickle Cell Partners of The Carolinas and are excited to continue serving the community with them this year.
We're so proud to live and work among such a talented and thoughtful business, and we hope that you will visit their website and Etsy to browse their products and follow them on instagram, YouTube, Pinterest, Twitter, and Facebook.
Charlotte locals can visit Catawba River Antique Mall in quaint Belmont, North Carolina to shop in person.
Sonya's passion for what she does shows tremendously, and we are so thankful that she took the time to share with us today!
